Le Royal Meridien Bristol

The Bristol, which is named after an eccentric English Marquis who travelled Europe in formidable style, is Warsaw's premier hotel. The hotel originally opened its doors in 1901 and its grand reopening in 1993 set the icing on the cake of one of the city's most splendid restorations. At the Bristol you can expect modern luxury combined with old world elegance and a location that is second to none. The rooms are light and charming, many with balconies, and there is a large variety of suites on hand. These range right up to the stately and very swish Paderewski (named after the pre-war prime minister and pianist who founded the hotel), which is certainly fit for a king.

"This is the definition of classy. The rooms are very elegant and the meals in the restaurant (especially breakfast and Sunday brunch) are to die for! Recommended if you want a real luxury experience and are sick of staying in chain hotels."

"Very glamorous building and wonderful entrance, bars and lounging areas. Location cannot be better for a tourist. All the new hotels seem to be in the rather ugly business part of the city hence we decided on a stay at the Bristol."

"Didn't actually stay here but on the advice of a friend did the legendary Sunday brunch. Could have happily booked a room and conked out after that! Absolutely fantastic!"

"Decided on one night in a luxury hotel during my recent tour of Poland and the Bristol was my choice. Loved the proximity to the Old Town and also the feeling of it being a well established hotel with a long history in Warsaw but couldn't help thinking that this grand hotel had seen better days."

"Splendid, really. Quality service and some style. Warsaw is a pretty hectic city, and the Bristol Hotel provided a great break from the hubbub. The staff were courteous and the room we had was generous in size and nicely appointed. Not the cheapest hotel in Warsaw, but probably one of the best."
