Sobieski

|
The Sobieski - or Jan III Sobieski to give it its full name - is a Polish/Austrian project, so named because it was the Polish King of the same name that came to Vienna's rescue in 1683, vanquishing an enormous army of Turks. Opened in 1992, the Sobieski is something of an architectural curiosity. Effectively a tarted-up apartment block, it boasts a pink paint job with splashes of blue, yellow and maroon, plus a rather grand dome on top! Very odd but not entirely bad - especially when you discover the delightful gardens inside. If you need a second opinion on their excellent rooms, then why not ask Carlos Santana or Art Garfunkel, who have both stayed here... |

This hotel has been amazingly refitted so in my opinion its the best luxury hotel in all of warsaw. Yes - better than the Bristol and Le Regina - and I have stayed in both.
