Galeria SD Wilanow will showcase the work of the Palka Family – that’s right, generations of artistic talent under one roof!

Witold Palka, born in 1928 and grandfather of the group, studied art from an early age in Krakow, and now calls Katowice his home. His work is found in countless galleries and museums in the country and abroad.

Mariusz Palka, born in 1952, studied art at the Fine Arts Academy of Krakow at the Katowice campus. Aside from the fact he’s participated in over 120 different exhibitions in house and abroad, he has got ten various honours and awards under his belt. Truly an impressive talent.

Barbara Palka-Winek, born in 1958, also studied in Krakow. Her creations are viewed by many audiences in Poland, Germany and the United States. As one admirer, Aleksander Devosges Cuber, has said, “…the atmosphere of her paintings, poetic yet with unfinished thoughts, contains a dual meaning… and this awakens sentiment within us, while beginning a dialog with the audience.”

The youngest of the clan, Olga Palka, was born in 1980. She studied at... you guessed it, the same fine arts academy as her predecessors (and mentors). However, a new generation brings a new look on the work, and Olga’s showcased graphic art talent brings a modern twist to the entire exhibition.

A special invitation is extended to all www.Warsaw-Life.com readers for the vernissage on Friday the 14th of October at 6 PM. The exhibition will run until the 30th of October – gallery hours are 11 AM to 8 PM.
