Film director Andrzej Wajda has received the Platinum Lions during the Festival of Polish films which has just wound up at the coastal city of Gdynia. The great director was honoured for his life time achievements on the Polish film scene.
The main prize of the festival the Golden Lions went to Felks Falk for his film “Debt Collector”, while Dorota Kedzierzawska , a representative of the younger generation of Polish film makers, received the audience's award for her dramatic film “Here I am”. Renowned Russian film director and producer Nikita Michalkov received the best actor award for his role in Krzysztof Zanussi’s film “Persona Non Grata”. Meanwhile, best debuting actor award went to young Tomasz Kot for his perfect role in the film “Committed to the blues” , about Ryszard Riedel the legendary leader of DZEM Poland’s best blues band.
