President Aleksander Kwasniewski has begun a week-long visit to the United States. The Polish president’s itinerary includes delivering lectures at local political institutes, meetings with politicians and entrepreneurs as well as participation in the world summit of the United Nations in New York.

The opening of the visit coincides with the 4th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World trade Centre towers in New York, hence the Polish president’s presence at a mass celebrated in the memory of the victims. In the series of lectures, president Kwasniewski is to discuss Poland’s role and place in Europe and the world. Meetings with representatives of the strong Polish minority in the US are planned too.
