Polish hammer thrower Szymon Ziolkowski has won bronze at the World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki. With a throw of 79.35 m, Ziolkowski, Olympic champion from Sydney (2000) and world champion from Edmonton (2001), finished behind Ivan Tichon and Vadim Devatovski of Belarus who both left the rest of the finalists way behind. Yesterday’s bronze is Poland’s first medal of the World Championships in Athletics held in Helsinki.
