Summer Film Festival in Kazimierz Dolny 2005
'Wysokie Temperatury Filmowe'
The quaint riverside town of Kazimierz Dolny has long been a favourite weekend destination with Varsovians. It's the kind of place that Jonathan Harker might have stopped at on the way to Castle Dracula. Peppered with exotic old merchants houses and crowned by a rambling gothic ruin on the hill above, Kazimierz is pure fantasy.
This Summer the smash film festival 'Wysokie Temperatury Filmowe' (High Temperatures In Film) will be returning to this delightful town on the Vistula. Between Wednesday 3rd and Sunday 7th August, film lovers from across Poland and beyond will descend for a feast of first class film.
Competition for beds is likely to be tough, but for Varsovians, Kazimierz is manageable even as a day trip. The festival has been going from strength to strength in recent years and with it has come a surge in international interest.
As well as showcasing an array of inspiring new international films, a number of landmark Polish films from the past will be screened, as well as a special tribute to Carol Reed's legendary treat 'The Third Man'.
