How do you remember John Paul II?
A great person has passed on, one who fought for peace and understanding in the world. –korea_abc
Father, I grew up during your pontificate. I didn’t understand what a great honor it was. You taught me. I wasn’t the best student, and I regret that. Now I realize that you carried my sins on your shoulders and you suffered as a case of it. Father, give me the strength to be a better person, because if you don’t believe in me then who will? Father, I will always keep you in my heart. –Tomasz Dankiewicz
We all knew that your time would come someday, no one lives forever. We all knew how you suffered during your last days and that death liberated you from the pain. We all know that you are now in a better place with God. However, no one can hold back the tears of sorrow. I was born two years after the start of your pontificate, and from when I can remember you were with us. I don’t know how this world will look without you. The famous polish poet Czeslaw Milosc wrote a poem asking God to send a person who would be a living example of the Holy Spirit. His request was heard. There are no words in any language that could possibly express my gratitude to you. – Maciej
For him it did not matter if you were black or white, if you were a believer or not, if you were rich or poor… one thing was important: if you were in need. – Justyna
Thank you for your words, for being with us. Though we will no longer be able to see you, you will remain forever in our hearts. May the words you left us lead us through this world. – Grzegorz
Although John Paul II has passed away, his soul lives on. He lives in our hearts and always will! He did great things for us, and now – those who love him with all their heart – pray for him. He never spoke to the crowd; he always spoke to each individual, without consideration of race, gender, beliefs. He loved everyone. He always approached us with a smile on his face, cheerful and serene… His words found their way into our hearts. He helped those in need and gave us advice. He had time for everyone. Everyone loved this exceptional, unique person. His teachings will forever be remembered. Never will there be another pope like Karol Wojtyla. He was faithful and devoted to God until the last moment. Many people can’t describe a world without him. We love you Father!! We will never forget you Father!! You will be with us in our hearts forever!! We will remember you as a great, strong, and healthy person. He does live – he lives on in all our hearts!! Though I am only thirteen years old, I will remember the impact he had on my life. - Edyta
