The smash art exhibition of the season has just opened it's appropriately grand doors at the Royal Castle. 'Light And Shadow: Four Centuries Of French Painting XVII-XX Century' is one of the most lavish exhibitions of French painting that has ever come to Poland.
Art lovers can savour treasures by all the top names in French art, including Poussin, Claude Lorrain, Boucher, Fragonard, Watteau, Renoir, Degas, Monet, Gauguin and Balthus.
The whopping exhibition has already been on display in Budapest, and it will move on to Bucharest in mid-June.
The last rightful inhabitant of the Royal castle, the ill-starred King Stanislas August Poniatowski (r. 1764-95) was himself a great connoisseur of the arts and of French culture itself, and he would certainly have enjoyed the show. Don't miss it!
