Pole Charged In Cocaine Scam

A German man and a Polish woman have been charged with attempting to smuggle 11 kilograms of cocaine into Russia. The pair had apparently dissolved the drug into bottles of wine.

''The foreigners were carrying the drugs by air from Costa Rica via Panama, Cuba and Russia, with the intention of delivering them to Western Europe and subsequently selling them," stated the investigation's press agency.

The smugglers were scuppered at Moscow's Sheremetyevo-2 airport several months ago.

"The preliminary investigation regarding the accused in this criminal case has been completed and they will very shortly be presented with criminal case materials to study,” the police confirmed.
