Having announced yesterday that the privatisation process of Polmos Bialystok is underway, Poland’s Treasury Ministry has said that a further five distillers will be privatised in 2005. The state controls a total of nine spirits producers.
The distilleries marked for privatisation in 2005 are Polmos Bialystok, Polmos Torun, Polmos Jozefow, Polmos Bielsko Biala, Polmos Lodz and Warsaw-based Koneser.
The state hopes the sales will generate close to 600m Polish zloty (US$195.9m)
Some 500m zloty is expected to come from the sale of Polmos Bialystok, which controls over 20% of the domestic spirits market.
