A group of Polish forensic experts flew to Thailand's capital on Monday, to help with the identification of tsunami victims by means of DNA tests.

The Polish experts will stay in Thailand for some ten days. The group includes personnel from the central forensic laboratory and the forensic medicine department of Wroclaw police.

The Polish government has announced that it will offer aid of 1 million USD to help victims. A Poland flag carrier on Saturday transported 12 million tonnes of medicine and medical equipment to Sumatra, Indonesia.
