Poland Raises Millions For Charity

Poland's biggest fundraiser, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOSP), managed to raise an incredible 9 million PLN (approximately 2 million euro) in its 20th edition this year.

Tens of thousands of volunteers raised money across the country, handing out the charity's trademark red heart stickers. Celebrities also got involved, donating items for auction or performing at the many concerts held across Poland. In Warsaw, a stage was set up on Plac Defilad just in front of the Palace of Culture and Science and saw performances from the likes of Gooral and Dzem.

This year's edition of WOSP was raising money for hospital equipment for premature babies and expecting mothers with diabetes.
