Christmas Illuminations in December
The city will be covered in thousands of twinkling lights for the winter season starting 1 December. Two days later on December 3, the 27-metre-high Christmas tree on Plac Zamkowy (Castle Square) will be illuminated with a special ceremony accompanied by performances by several guest artists.
Performing on the 3rd will be Halina Mlynkova, Patrycja Kazadi, Robert Janowski, Magda Welc and Trebunie Tutki (straight from the Polish city of Zakopane).
The city's streets, including Krakowskie Przedmiescie, the Old Town, Nowy Swiat, and Trzech Krzyzy square, will remain illuminated until February 2012.
The official dates for the traditional Christmas Market on the Old Town Square have also been set: 26 November - 8 January 2012.
