Polish Film Victorious at Warsaw Film Festival

 

Polish film Roza (Rose), directed by Wojciech Smarzowski, has been awarded the main prize of the Warsaw Grand Prix at the closing ceremony of the 27th edition of the Warsaw Film Festival.

The WFF saw nearly 400 film screenings over its 10-day period, showcasing feature length and short films from 59 countries. Over 100 000 audience members attended the film festival screenings.

Other prizes awarded during the festival include: Best Director for Santiago Amigorena (Another Silence / Otros Silencios), Best Actor for Robert Wieckiewicz in Courage / Wymyk, Special Mention for Crulic - The Path to Beyond / Crulic - Drumul Spre Dincolo, and Best Documentary Feature to A Bitter Taste of Freedom.

The 28th Warsaw Film Festival will take place 12-21 October 2012.
