Valentine's Day in Warsaw

Warsaw is no longer immune to the western holiday of Valentine's Day, a relatively new addition to the calendar here in Poland. And while flowers are still more popular on Women's Day in March, plenty of loved-up couples celebrate Valentine's Day in Warsaw.

Many restaurants and bars offer special meals and deals for this evening's celebrations, but there are also several interesting events taking place tonight across the city.

The Palace of Culture and Science's grand Congress Hall, or Sala Kongresowa, will host a lighthearted Valentine's Day performance featuring the hits of ABBA and the Bee Gees.

More adventurous lovers can head to Warsaw's brand new Erotic Museum which is home to over 2000 artifacts and works of art from across the world.

Valentine's Day is also a time to celebrate the many forms of love, which is the theme behind the Equal Right to Love Festival (9-15 February). Discussions, workshops, film screenings, and performances are all a part of this festival promoting LGBT rights and culture.
