Tourist Routes Launched Across Warsaw

The Warsaw public transportation committee, the ZTM, has announced the launch of this season's tourist routes across the city.

Many of the tourist routes sail up and down the Vistula (Wisla) river, such as the Riverboat. Stopping at three locations (at the Castle Boroughs near the River Cafe, by the Poniatowski Bridge, and by Cape Czerniakowski), a full trip on the Riverboat takes 1 hour and 50 minutes allowing for you to relax and peacefully gaze at both sides of the metropolis - the cityscape as well as the flourishing plants and birds at the riverbed. The standard Riverboat fare is 18 zloty.

The Zefir boat offers an 8-hour cruise along the Vistula, the Zeran Channel, and on to the Zegrze reservoir and the picturesque town of Serock. Check the schedule carefully as the boat only takes on trip per day, departing in the morning and returning at around 6pm. Standard fare is 36 zloty.

If you fancy a quick (and free) trip across the Vistula, look for the ferries joining the two sides of Warsaw at three different locations.

Those looking to keep their feet on dry land won't be disappointed - throughout the Old Town travels both a single and double-decker horse-drawn trolley, or horsecar, stopping at six different locations in the area. Stops include Zamkowy Square, Barbican, the New Town Market Square, Krasinskich Square, Kapitulna Street, and Pilsudskiego Square. Standard fare for the horsecar is 14 zloty.
