Ceremonies Set To Continue As Planned

Despite the chaos caused by Iceland's volcanic eruption, the Polish government will not be postponing this weekend's ceremonies. Both Saturday's memorial service in Warsaw and Sunday's presidential funeral in Cracow are set to go ahead as planned.

The Warsaw memorial will begin at Plac Jozefa Pilsudskiego at midday. It will be in tribute not only to the presidential couple, but all the 96 victims of last week's tragic accident. The commemoration will begin with a state ceremony, followed by a mass at 1 pm. Later that afternoon, at 5.30 pm, the coffins of the President and his wife will be transported from the Presidential Palace to St. John's Cathedral, where there will be a mass at 6 pm.
