Pickpocket Crime Plummets

The Warsaw Police has announced that the rate of pickpocket crime in Warsaw has decreased by an impressive 35 percent. One of the most notorious spots for such crime in Warsaw, as in many cities, has been the central train station which sees thousands of tourists pass through every day. And while pickpocketing has not been a particularly major issue in Warsaw, such a significant drop in this type of crime can only be a positive boost for the city.

The statistic has been attributed to a police initiative which has had the goal of educating the people of Warsaw about the risks of carelessness towards ones belongings, which in many cases can invite a pickpocket to easy prey.

With the holiday season just around the corner, it's important to remember that crowded shopping centres, where distracted shoppers don't always take as much care in keeping their belongings safe, can also be targets for pickpockets. Don't leave your purse out of sight and guys - don't carry your wallet in your back pocket!
