Renowned American violinist Joshua Bell performed a charity concert this week in Warsaw's Opera House. Despite the cost of a ticket being the highest ever in Poland (350 euro in Poland and up to $1500 in the US), Bell performed the Brahms Violin Concerto in D Major to a full house.
The concert raised thousands of dollars of funding for Warsaw's planned Museum of the History of Polish Jews, which began construction last three months ago after years of financial struggles. The museum, which will interactively display the history and struggles of Polish Jews over the last 1000 years, is set to open in March 2012.
