Polish Athletes Return from Berlin

The World Championships in Athletics have wrapped up in Berlin, where Poland placed in fifth place on the medal table. Polish athletes will be returning with two gold, four silver, and two bronze medals - Poland's best result to date in the World Championships.

Our athletes excelled particularly in field sports, winning medals in discus (Piotr Malachowski - silver), hammer throw (Anna Wlodarczyk - gold, Szymon Ziolkowski - silver), pole vault (Anna Rogowska - gold, Monika Pyrek - silver), shot put (Tomasz Majewski - silver), high jump (Sylwester Begnarek - bronze), and heptathlon (Kamila Chudzik - bronze).

Poland's brightest star performer was surely Anna Wlodarczyk, who both won a gold medal in hammer throw and broke the world record throwing at a distance of 77.69 metres.
