Dalai Lama visits Warsaw

The spiritual and political leader of Tibet, the Dalai Lama, visited Warsaw over three days last week.

During his trip he received an honorary citizenship from Warsaw Mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz in a ceremony at the Royal Castle. The Dalai Lama has already received an honorary doctorate from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and an honorary citizenship in Wroclaw during previous trips to Poland.

The Dalai Lama paid a visit to the 1944 Warsaw Uprising Museum, during which he compared the uprising to the continual struggle of Tibet. He also gave a lecture at the university, entitled "Educational Institutions in the View of Universal Responsibilities". This was his fourth visit to Poland.
