Wislostrada Festival of Open Art
If you go down to the river today you're in for a big surprize.... For Wislostrada has returned for another weekend of refined mayhem on the banks of the river. This multifaceted festival draws budding stars from the worlds of theatre, film, music and contemporary art, and it's primed to bring a blast of creative sparkle to the capital.
The main idea of the festival is to promote both contemporary art and international dialogue - it also so happens to be Midsummers Eve, a day of omens and magic, when wreaths are traditionally floated down the river and signs read for the coming year.
The festival kicks off on Friday 23rd June, running all the way through until Sunday evening. There will be three musical stages, as well as open-air theatres and all manner of artistic installations. About 200 artists have been invited both Polish and international , representing the cream of recent festivals in the art world, bringing together film, theatre, music and graphic art.
