Poland’s Tomasz Sikora has won the silver medal at the Winter Games in Turin. He put up an almost flawless performance in the 15-kilometre mass-start biathlon event. Missing just one of his 20 targets overall, he came in 6.3 seconds behind Michael Greis of Germany, who won his third gold of the Olympics.

Tomasz Sikora is the 1995 individual world champion. At last year’s world championships, he finished fifth in the mass start. Sikora’s silver medal is Poland’s second medal in Turin. Yesterday, Justyna Kowalczyk won the bronze in the women’s 30-kilometres cross-country free-style race.
