Gaelforce Dance

Gaelforce Dance is coming straight from Ireland to bring a little Irish spirit and dance to the Polish audience. Called the "Ferrarri of Irish dance," the show returns to Poland this year for everyone who missed them the first time around in spring 2006, when tickets sold out for the ever-popular spectacle. The 2007 tour includes 22 shows in 14 Polish cities, including four shows in Warsaw, Wroclaw, and Krakow among others, though the best party is sure to be on St. Patrick's Day in Gdansk. The musical, ballet, and play in one tells the story of two brothers who fall in love with the same woman, and in classic Irish style, is full of passion, jealousy, tragedy, and the occasional brawl to liven things up, all immersed in the energy of live Irish music and dance.

The name isn't just for fun and this oddball ensemble really does scream, shout, holla and hoot it's way through a performance. A highly droll night out. Starts at 20:00, tickets from 120-190 PLN.

La Bayadere - Ballet

La Bayadere premiered in the Maryinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in 1877, but has retained the power to move people ever since with its grace and beauty. The action takes place in India, where a young warrior named Solor is in love with Nikiya, a bayadere, who is also loved by the High Brahmin. Well you can guess the rest, but it's certainly worth seeing the drama played out in Warsaw's grandiose Wielki Theatre. Performance begins at 19:00.

Thunder in Concert

It's easy to laugh at cheesy headbangers like Thunder who seemed to jump on the power ballad bandwagon at just the time everyone realised how naff rock was becoming. Ironically however Thunder were - and still are - one of the best bands of their kind. Killer tracks like "Love Walked In" and "River of Pain" will get the crowd moshing, and maybe even convert a few cynics. Plus Thunder enjoy an excellent reputation as a live act... Tickets are 70 PLN on the day or can be bought beforehand at the venue. Starts at 19:00.

The multi-talented Frenchman will be gracing the Stodola Student Club this March. Rhythm of the Dance

It sounds like Riverdance, it looks like Riverdance and in fact it's pretty much the same as Riverdance, but without the depressing feeling that you're enlarging Michael Flatley's already bulging tights (those are 50 Euro notes he stuffs down there!). This production is in fact brought to Warsaw by The National Dance Company of Ireland and it's safe to say that there'll be enough high knees and foot tapping to keep the most avid Irish-lover happy. Then again there's always Patrick's Irish Pub instead...! Tickets for the dance start at 70 PLN and work their way up to whopping 190 PLN. Show starts at 19:00.
