99 Restaurant

This restaurant caused quite a splash when it opened up back in 1997. Designed by the San Francisco architect Cass Calder Smith, 99 brought a light, modern touch to the Warsaw dining scene. A host of little details make this a sure-fire winner, from the special offers that are on rotation throughout the week, right down to letting you create your own dinner when it comes to dishes such as pastas and salads. How far removed from the unbending eastern bloc stereotype can you get? And to top it off, smooth and smiling service makes you feel immediately at home. 99 even politely offers to entertain your children while you sit back and enjoy their tasty New World wines. Well worth a visit.

"The photo makes it look like a bad hotel lobby... Like HOliday Inn in the 90s. Is that really what it is like??"

"This restaurant is phenomenal in every way save one--the price! I dined here solo and was very impressed by the food and wine; the service was also among the best I've had in Warsaw. My personal bill, however, would shock the average Warsaw epicure: 250 PLN! In the end you get what you pay for, but I for one would dine here much more often if the prices were somewhat lower. In the final analysis, I rate the quality of food and service a "5"--only the price works to reduce my overall rating."
