Adler

The antithesis of the nouvelle cuisine experience, Adler is where to come for good old-fashioned nosh in a cosy, rustic setting. Excellent pork knuckles, white sausages and lashings of Bavarian mustard will soon have you wallowing in Gemutlichkeit. A flagon of German beer won't hurt in this regard either. Something of a trusty choice for a pleasant evening, and the stuffed game on the walls told us they couldn't agree more.

"I visited Warsaw recently on business and stumbled upon the Adler on the first night. After spending many years in Bavaria, I was happy to find a Bavarian restaurant. But, how authentic could it be, right? The service was excellent, beer cold, food was as good or better than any I have eaten in the Oberpfalz region of Bavaria, and the atmosphere was great. The manager is Polish, but speaks excellent German. Highly recommend."

"One of my favorite places to go to when I am in Warsaw. I still cannot find a pig knuckle like I get everytime I go to the Adler. I have even tried to look online, so I can make it at home - with no success. Oh well, it will taste all the better for the all the longing."
