The superbly-named "In the Fumes of Absurdity" takes it title from a cult Polish book of the same name. As soon as you see the bar's exterior, in the run-down district of Praga, you immediately sense that the name didn't happen by accident... The giant hairy black spider on the wall kind of gives that much away. Step inside into this madcap drinking den and you will find drunks/writers (delete as appropriate) drowning the sorrows of their latest rejection letter, amongst broken furnishing and boot sale bric-a-brac. Serious alcos will note with pleasure that W Operach Absurdu is one of the few places in Warsaw that still sells spirits in 50ml.
"I can't believed I walked by this bar so many times and didn't even realize it existed! It totally sounds like my kind of place... see you next time Oparach."

"Praga is the coolest place for nightlife and this place is probably the easiest to find and a good intro to this district. Keep your wits about you though!"
