Fryderyk Chopin Museum website

The Frederick Chopin Museum at the Frederick Chopin Society in Warsaw was established in the 1930s, and its collections were greatly enlarged by the Frederick Chopin Institute before the Second World War. Today, the museum covers the history and works of Poland's most famous son, Frederick Chopin, including original manuscripts and documents written by the composer, photographs and sculptures of him, letters, as well as hosting piano recitals and competitions of Chopin's works. The forward-thinking museum will reopen to the public in April 2010 with a sparkling new interior, boasting modern interactive displays and shooting to the top of the cultural must-see lists of Poles and visitors alike.

I visited the Museum for the first time in 1990, and spent some time with Hanna Wroblewska-Stauss. I am wondering if she is still at the Chopin Society doing her research and editing.

If the Chopin museum near Krybar is closed ,there is always the 'Golden Duck of Warsaw' fountain ! best viewed from the pedestrian bridge. Even better, a short way away is a renowned musical academy where one can rest in a park and listen to real pianists of high calibre rehearsing and taking their music exams.

my friend emailed them and received a response nearly a week later. the museum apparently did open on march 1 but they basically said they will only "encourage" visitors after easter. looks like they just wanted to say they officially opened on their deadline (march 1) but didn't actually finish it and so won't let anyone in... what a joke... even their website is not informed...
