The Powszechny (universal) explores contemporary and classic theatre from across Europe, all in Polish translation. All the big names are there, Shakespeare, Moliere, Gorky and Beckett. Leading lights such as Juliusz Machulski take up the directing reins, and major new works in European theatre get the Polish premiere at the Powszechny.
