Centre for Contemporary Art

|
This whopper is located in the delightful Lazienki Park. Also known as Zamek Ujastowski (the Ujast Castle) the building was in fact once a royal residence, but a string of fires, sackings and political problems meant that the building lost its residential function. Rebuilt after World War II, the baroque shell now houses Warsaw's leading Centre of Contempoary Art. All manner of marvellous exhibitions can be enjoyed, from shows by local talent to those by stars in the art world from across the globe. Also to be found in the complex are an excellent restaurant and bookshop. |
