Teatr Wielki

|
The Grand Theatre is the mac daddy of 'em all in Warsaw. This fine and gargantuan edifice can house a good deal of culture-enthusiasts. Close to 2,000 theatre-goers can enjoy performances on the main stage alone. Add to that a separate hall and the country's only Museum of Theatre, and you've got yourself a thorough thespian offer. Heck, you don't even have to go inside to admire some truly fine art: the two statues in front - both works of Jan Szczepkowski - are certanly worthy of attention. Presented are two 'dads'; the Father of the National Theatre, Wojciech Boguslawski and the Creator of the National Opera, Stanislaw Moniuszko. When you do manage to get inside, you'll enjoy the finest board-trodding around. Check out opera and ballet performances everyday but Monday during the season (October until the end of June). |
